5'2" x 17 1/2 x 2 1/16 Matrix Squash Tail

"Situation in which something develops". A  step between a beginner softboard or Dad's old board and a sensitive performance model, the matrix is for young riders who are moving out past the whitewash and reforms and developing the skills to catch unbroken swells. With extra width and thickness through the mid section and chest area this board paddles like a demon and has a touch of added stability. The  rocker is a relaxed performance curve forward with the right amount in the tail to allow for late drops and quick turns just like a more advanced performer such as the Arc or Scat, just a lot easier to catch a wave on. The tail has enough area to keep up and going on a grom sized wave but is narrow enough for small feet to fit on without skipping or spinning out when a young rider does catch a bomb. Medium rails a bit softer to keep from catching with a low boxy performance edge in the tail to allow for advanced turns. Recommended tail designs are Squash tail, Thumb, or Round tail.
