Just like the regular sized step up model, This one's for those bigger days when your favourite shortboard starts skipping, not quite holding on bottom turns, or isn't quite getting you into the bombs like you wish.
With a slightly narrower tail, slightly increased rocker, and low boxy rails for speed, the step up will be there for smooth responsive turning and increased holding at high speed without that bulky big board feeling. Recommended tail designs are a round tail, tight swallow tail, tight squash or as a rounded pintail. Ride this board the same width and thickness as your regular shortboard, just 2" to 4" longer.
