No matter where you live there will always be those days when the seas rise up, massive swells come roaring in, and having the right equipment becomes more important than ever. Choosing the right board for the occasion can be the difference between a great surf, or frustration and even punishment!

With the increased speed associated with larger surf, rocker, foil, rail design, fins, and bottom contours play a bigger role than ever. Seemingly small design elements can become major design flaws, so ensuring your shaper has the experience to get it right will give you the confidence you need. 

My gun designs are based on my extensive research and testing from 30+ years of chasing the big days, including 16 years of living on Oahu's North Shore as well as input from the new wave of chargers paddling  large surf with the current push in surfing today. Big wave surfboards vary in design and purpose with different types of surf so working with the rider is preferable to get the right board under your feet.
